He was born near Pittsburg, July 4tn, 1826, and died, the result of an accident, in New York, Jnn.l3th, 1864, less than 38 years old."The Old Folks at Home" and "My Old Kentucky Home" are the two most popular of all his songs. He generally wrote both words and music of his compositions. |
